My brother Mike was at the Snail the other day, and took this undercover photo. The Possum has graduated from the “Indy” shelf in the back corner, to the “real” comic shelves (alphabetized and everything). I guess it has been selling fairly well, dispite being hidden in the back of the store, so the fine folks at the Silver Snail decided to give it a chance and put it on display for all to see.
Seeing it up on the shelf, makes me think the title could use a little bit of tweeking to make it stand out a bit more. What do you guys think?
Apparently, Mike said last week that they had them spread out, and issues 1, 2 and 3 were all visible. I guess now is a good opportunity to thank all of the Comic shops who have agreed to carry The Possum! Hopefully it will be popping up in more and more comic shops as time goes on, and maybe some day it will even be a normal occurance to walk into your local comic shop and see The Possum on the shelves. If that’s going to happen, I guess I better get issue #4 finished! (I’m almost finished all of the pencils, and half of the inks!)….. almost time for the big push.
Congratulation Blair!
Yeah I saw that too and I thought to myself: “hell, now that Blair’s made it, will he remember us, the little guys?”
When I went there, they had # 1 to #3 up…I guess they’ve been selling up pretty quickly, do they know how to reach you to order more copies?
Who is this Daniel, that is typing on my blog? I don’t know any Daniel’s….
Hopefully they sold some had to put them all together because they were low on stock, rather than deciding to put them all together because they were taking up valuable space and not selling… I’ll have to get myself down there next time I’m in Toronto and see:)
Whoa, that’s awesome! Next Issue, put Possum’s face up at the top so everyone can see who he is! (Like that Ressurection comic in the bottom right)
Matt: Yeah, the placement of characters on the cover is so important. It’s always hard, because you want to see all of the character (or at least his yellow “P” on his costume). That’s also why I put the logo in the top left corner of the comic, so no matter how they are displayed (either like above, or overlapping left to right with the spines partly sticking out) the logo will be showing.
I’ll have to see if I can get him up high, for issue #4.
